Key Engineering Solutions was founded in Perth, Western Australia, in 2014 by engineers with extensive experience delivering process control and automation improvements across some of Australia's largest mining and industrial operations.
From the beginning, our focus has been simple: help clients achieve better operational performance by making better use of the systems and infrastructure they already own.
Today, Key operates across Australia and the Americas through its Perth headquarters and Cartagena office, supporting clients throughout Australia, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, North America, and beyond.
While our geographic reach has expanded, our approach has remained consistent—practical engineering, evidence-based decision making, and measurable operational outcomes.

André Gibson is Co-Founder of Key Engineering Solutions, bringing extensive experience in process control, automation and operational technology. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Western Australia and worked with BHP before co-founding Key in 2014.
André leads Key’s technical direction, with expertise in process optimisation, automation and control strategy. His focus is on delivering practical, measurable improvements in plant performance while maintaining high engineering standards and long-term client relationships.
Wilson Florez
Co-Founder | General Manager & Growth Director LATAM
Cartagena, Colombia
Wilson Florez leads Key Engineering Solutions' expansion throughout Latin America. Having worked across the energy, automation, and mining sectors with organisations including Ecopetrol, Schneider Electric and BHP, he combines Australian engineering standards with a strong understanding of the Latin American operating environment.
Brent Smith
Senior Process Control Engineer
Operations Manager - Australia
Brent Smith is Key Engineering Solutions' Operations Manager in Australia and a specialist in industrial control systems. He oversees operational delivery across the Australian business, supporting project execution, technical coordination, and consistent delivery standards. Brent works closely with Key's engineering teams and clients to ensure practical solutions are implemented effectively and sustained in operation.

Fernando Pereira

Fernando has more than 20 years of resource experience in a range of disciplines i.e. Port, Rail, fixed plant, processing plants, operations and maintenance, in different commodities like Iron Ore, Lithium, Bauxite in Western Australia and Brazil.
Fernando has held positions in both Mining & Mineral Engineer roles and Senior Leadership roles with large resource companies.

With his 39 years of experience as a director in both private and public companies across Australia and South Africa, Craig brings unparalleled expertise to the table. His specialisation lies in international mergers and acquisitions, as well as business development in the realms of distribution, engineering, and manufacturing.
